International Course on Protected Area Management

This summer EDNYA is offering an international training course on Protected Area Management that analyses specific problems of protected areas situated close to urban centers.

The Course will be held in cooperation with the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and the Directorates-General for Environment of Madrid. The aim of the Course is to strengthen the skills of participants regarding planning and management of protected areas that are open for public use and outdoor recreation in order to build higher support for conservation, contribute to public welfare and provide economic benefits to local communities. The Course includes classroom instruction, field work and visits to protected areas.

1400 € (Includes all tuition, lodging, food and local travel.

Excludes airfare/ travel expenses to and from the Course).

There is a 20% discount for university students.


Enrolment in a bachelor’s degree (natural sciences) or higher;

Professionals working in the field of environment/ with environmental background

Certificate and Credits:

The Polytechnic University will issue participants with a certificate. The certificate will state the duration of the course, hours of training with the option of credits equivalent to 1 ECTS/ 25 hours of training.
